Special welcome signs to the Kindergarten Class of 2033!

On February 14, the children enjoyed a wonderful assembly by the ReesSpecht Life Foundation. The younger grades learned about cultivating kindness. The lesson spoke of how kindness comes from your heart and you can plant a seed with acts of kindness. The older grades received a deeper lesson that spoke about where bullying stems from and how to overcome it. Both presentations were touching, related to kindness and the effects it can have on the world. The students were very engaged and the adults present were touched by the message they heard.
The PTA is very proud to be able to bring this assembly to our school. Please speak with your children about it. You may also go to www.reesspechtlife.com, click share and tell what act of kindness your child did.
On P.S. I love you day, we hope it helped drive home the message that each of us can make a difference in the lives of those around us, be it a friend, stranger, or even someone who isn't kind to us. We all have a choice in our actions and by respecting others and cultivating kindness, we can change the world.
Hope everyone enjoyed the assemblies and the cute heart carabiners provided by the PTA. May each of them know they are special and loved and be reminded of that whenever they touch or see their carabiner.

National PTA’s Reflections program has helped students explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful in school and in life.

Each year, our students create original works of art in response to a student-selected theme. The theme for the 2019-2020 program year is
Look Within. Students submit their completed works of art in one or all of the available arts categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts.

All requested applications have been sent.  Entries are due Friday, November 1, 2019.

Thank you to Samantha Miller for assuming the chairperson position for this committee.

Our back to school breakfast was a success!  The executive committee was joined by some familiar parents as well as some new parents.  It was a comfortable and relaxing environment where everyone introduced themselves and got to know each other better.  We discussed events that were going to take place throughout the school year and lots of questions were answered. All who attended received a little bag of kisses and tissues!  Thanks for all who joined us and for those who helped make the event successful!  We look forward to seeing everyone at our first official PTA Meeting on Tuesday September 17th at 7:00 p.m.
